The Malas are actually the beads one uses in order to meditate, chant the mantras, and count their prayers. Both Hinduism and Buddhism are origins of the Malas. Usually, they come in 108 beads, handmade from woods, seeds, and semiprecious gemstones. Each one of the beads symbolizes something. In every mala, there is supposedly a so-called “guru bead” showing the start or the end of the mala.
Malas help a practitioner avoid distractions and support the mind, one-pointed concentration, and memory. This makes a person more present during their spiritual practices.
